Assignment Example-PROV Course

The following assignment is a reflection journal of my PROV Course. This reflection journal is about how to develop critical thinking. Actually, I wrote many reflection journals this semester, and I think reflection is a significant skill for our study because we need to review and think what I do and how can I do better. Therefore, when I do anything during my future graduate program, I will follow the reflection and benefit from it.

The journal of critical thinking

After reading the resource of ideas for becoming a master student in learning, there are two suggestions that impressed me and enlightened me to study better as a master student in the future. One of the recommendations is “look for interconnections”. Every class isn’t an individual for a business management student, and they are all related with each other. It also develops our critical thinking through building the process of connection between each class. For example, in another class, the professor taught us to build the connection with previous articles when we read a new academic article with management field. During the process, I need to keep thinking and find the relationship between them. Although it’s really hard for me at the beginning because I lack academic knowledge, I still try to do it with the professor’s help. Therefore, to develop and enhance the ability of critical thinking, I need to extension my professional knowledge, such as reading many academic articles. Reading is beneficial for thinking.

Another one impressed me is “become a questioner”. I think that this is a very good suggestion for me because I often play a passive role in the class. I am afraid that my answer is wrong, so I rarely speak in class. However, I could try to be a questioner first. When I ask a question, it means that I was thinking during class. The processes of asking questions, discussion, getting answers and so on build and develop my critical thinking skill. In addition, becoming a questioner is not so easy because the question is not any questions. It should be related to the academic knowledge and beneficial for my academic study, so it requires me to be more critical. In the process of asking questions, I transfer unknown to known which the purpose of learning is. Therefore, I need to actively be a questioner both in class and outside the class. It is not important for a master student, but also important for my future career. In any place, a good questioner is necessary for a group.
